Repression

So we are all taught to be understanding people....the more understanding the better.
If you master this virtue, then you appear to be a gloriously confident and mature individual who can take care of others' issues. They are happy to be with you and bask in the warmth of your caring nature.
Now a word of caution for those who master the virtue to a fault....internally you might end up repressing certain queries or having doubts and grievances of your own....at points like this it would be best to keep them to yourself if you have already set a pattern of being a concerned-about-others sort of individual. Because if you don't the very people you thought you understood will try and do a role reversal on you. They'll ask you to talk it out and express how you are feeling. Talking always helps doesn't it? (Imagine talking to them who 'talk' to you.....sneer!)
You might naively believe them and give a shot at talking about your issues with them. They'll listen....oh I bet you they will! They will also show you the mirror, clear your doubts, hug your tears away and tuck you into bed.
But then.....then they'll realise you're not who they thought you were. You can also have issues and upsets just as they do and what more....you can have these concerns related to them.
Then will come the inevitable bitterness!
You shall be thrown off your pedestal, you shall be accused of ruining a balanced equation and of course...for destroying the camaraderie and good cheer that prevailed earlier.
You will go back to feeling (more strongly than before) that talking does not help! It is best to keep thing repressed and thus the cycle will get played out with everyone you get close to.
